KU-USF football game moved to Sept. 12 for ESPN

Kansas University’s third non-conference game of the 2008 football season, a road tilt at South Florida, was moved Tuesday from Saturday Sept. 13 to Friday Sept. 12. It will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

The Jayhawks open the season with home dates against Florida International (Aug. 31) and Louisiana Tech (Sept. 6). The non-conference season will conclude with a game against Sam Houston State in Lawrence on Sept. 20. That will be followed with the first of two bye weeks heading into Big 12 play.

KU’s last road non-conference game, coincidentally, was also played on a Friday night. The Jayhawks lost to Toledo, 37-31, in double overtime in 2006. That game was also shown on ESPN2.
