Point Lookout, Mo. ? College of the Ozarks established itself early and ran away with a 92-56 victory against Haskell Indian Nations University’s women’s basketball team Saturday in the finals of the Midlands Collegiate Athletics Conference tournament.

“That’s why they’re 30-1 and ranked No. 1,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha said of College of the Ozarks, which holds the top spot in the NAIA Division II poll.

Kortney Smith and Justina George led Haskell with 16 points apiece. For the second straight year, the Indians came one game short of a trip to the NAIA Division II national tournament. They finished with a 16-16 record.
