Jayhawks in 4th

? Kansas University’s swimming and diving team stands in fourth place after Day Three of the Big 12 championships.

Led by junior Danielle Herrmann’s second-place finish (1:02.27) in the 100 breaststroke, the Jayhawks totaled 332.5 points entering today’s final day. Texas A&M leads with 687 points, followed by Texas (516), Missouri (338.5), KU, Iowa State (235) and Nebraska (221).

Herrmann set a school record with a morning preliminary time of 1:02.13.

KU has three of the final eight divers in Erin Mertz, Meghan Proehl and Jenny Roberts. Proehl tallied 274.20 points to place sixth, while Roberts (273.00 points) and Mertz (268.70) finished seventh and eighth.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Ashley Leidigh, Emily Lanteigne, Terri Schramka and Amanda Maez finished fifth in 1:34.04.

In 400 IM, Alyssa Potter placed 12th (4:30.78).

Leidigh notched eighth in the 100 fly in 55.28.

The KU foursome of Maria Mayrovich, Lanteigne, Erin Goetz and Anne Liggett finished 10th, 13th, 20th and 21st in the 200 freestyle.

Schramka was 10th in the 100 backstroke (56.91).
