Family Church of Lawrence has opened its doors at 5150 Clinton Parkway, say founders Pastor Ron and Vicki Channell.
"I think the new building will really help. Just the location itself will give us the opportunity to reach the community and grow," Ron Channell says. "People know where we are now."The church, which has been active in Lawrence for the past two years, has about 100 members, and includes women's and men's ministries as well as a softball team among the church's activities.
The church has launched a 12-week class, called "The Truth Project" that is put out by Focus on the Family and discusses questions such as "Who is Man?" "What is Truth?" and "Who is God?"
The class takes place at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, and worship follows at 11 a.m.
For more information about the church and the class, call the church at 843-3325 or visit the church online at www.familychurchlawrence.org.

"The wikipedia article, with its links, is a good place to start..." To the contrary, I believe it is a rather bad place to start. It is more so an open forum to anyone with internet access than a legitimate online encyclopedia. The error rate among it's information is high while the only way one might consider it valid is if it can be proven so by several other sources. Then if one has to go to all that trouble, why bother with Wikipedia at all? It's a nice idea but currently far to unreliable to be taken very seriously.

Actually, the material one chooses to site is quite relevant to ones discussion. Your accusations are strong and so the source, grounds or proof of them has great relevance. Wikipedia makes clear the neutrality of your source is in dispute. If you refer to the Wikipedia links below (from the main article), you should note the previously specified quotes are rejected unanimously among contributors. The text you chose to quote are referred to as "weasel words". The specific text you quoted was noted by leading contributors "If that's not weasel words, I don't know what is." What are weasel words? Followiwng is the Wikipedia definition: Weasel words are deliberately misleading or ambiguous elements of language used to avoid making a straightforward statement while simultaneously generating the illusion that a direct, clear form communication is being utilized. This type of language is used to deceive, distract, or manipulate an audience.Ouch! Finally, having looked at the church website, I found nothing alarming. It seems pretty consistent of most Christian churches. The only connection with FotF is the course material for a current lesson series. Based on what you've provided I find your accusations baseless. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Foc...

"Weasel words, cute..." Well, they are your quotes, your source. If I had to guess, I'd say you've a personal grudge with someone in the church, perhaps the pastor. He didn't beat you up did he?
