The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 4 a.m. Saturday for Douglas County. Other area counties under the watch include Franklin, Jefferson, Osage, Shawnee and Wabaunsee.

A watch means conditions are favorable for development of severe storms.
