Area candidates will discuss education issues during a forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday presented by the Kansas Association of School Boards.

The “Education Issues in the 2008 Election” forum will be at the Lawrence school district headquarters, 110 McDonald Drive. It is one of the final ones the KASB has organized across the state ahead of the August primary election.

Candidates for the state Legislature and the Kansas State Board of Education are invited, along with other community and education leaders. Topics for discussion will include student achievement, school finance and tax policy, teaching and learning, and management and governance.
