A large plane flying low on the west side of Lawrence Monday appears to be a military plane, according to Douglas County emergency dispatchers.

A sheriff’s deputy has seen the plane and reported that it looks like a military in-air refueling plane, a dispatcher said.

There is a refueling unit based at Forbes Field in Topeka.
