The Runza Restaurant in Lawrence recently won two of the restaurant chain’s top honors during the company’s annual meeting.

The Runza, 2700 Iowa, won the Most Improved Store Profit award in the middle sales volume category. The award is presented to a store that is well managed, has shown a sales increase from the previous year and has recorded an improvement in profitability.

The location also won the Store of the Year for its sales category, an honor recognizing a restaurant that outshines other stores in achieving sales goals, commitment to customer service and outstanding food quality.

Donald Everett Jr., president of Runza National, attributed the store’s success largely to Doug Nations, who is franchisee and general manager. Nations won the company’s Manager of the Year award last year.
