The Lawrence City Band will present a concert that ties into the 1930s Kansas-Nebraska Chautauqua event that kicks off today. The music will be from the 1930s and will feature guest conductor Col. Arnald Gabriel. Selections will include “Salute to Kansas” by John Philip Sousa, “Thoughts of Love” by Arthur Pryor,” “Emblem of Unity” by J.J. Richards and “Big Band Signatures” arranged by John Higgins. The concert starts at 8 p.m. today, with a special “Meet the Chautauquans” event starting at 7 p.m.
