Fort Scott ? Alex Hardman pitched a complete game and struck out nine in the Lawrence Raiders’ 8-2 victory over the Butler County Cubs on Saturday.

Earlier, the Raiders lost, 4-2, to the Kansas City Bullets.

“Alex was really good,” Raiders coach Shaun Edmondson said. “What he does is he fills up the zone. The first pitch, he gets ahead and continues to apply pressure and lets the defense work behind him.”

Jake Green combined to go 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in the two games.

“Jake’s made some good adjustments with his swing and it’s paying off,” Edmondson said.

Lawrence will play its final game of the tournament at noon today against Mac and Seitz.
