High waters force some road closures at Perry Lake
Water levels at Perry Lake are about 8.5 feet above normal, forcing portions of some roads to be closed and preventing access to docks at several boat ramps.
Park Ranger Erik Patterson said park visitors should watch out for debris while enjoying the water this weekend, but he said the area remains open for people to enjoy and is busy.
“We still have 98 percent of our campgrounds open,” he said.
Patterson said the three ramps affected by high water are Old Town Park, Longview, and Devil’s Gap.
He also reported road closings on portions of Old Town Park Road and Rock Creek Park Road.
