Looking for relief from those ever-rising gas prices?
The Lawrence Transit System has the answer, at least for one day. The T is offering free rides on Thursday, the third annual National Dump the Pump Day. Fares will be waived on all fixed routes.
Dump the Pump Day is sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association, which hopes riders can conserve gasoline and help the environment at the same time. According to APTA, using public transportation instead of a personal vehicle can save more than $6,200 a year.

Is this a day late? Or perhaps it is 6 days early? It's as if they really don't want you to know that it was probably yesterday.

Just call it what it is. The Emp-T is using tax payer money to promote its failing and wasteful system.
