Actor Jack Black is the voice of Po in Kung

If you’re one of the millions who saw “Kung Fu Panda” over the weekend, you might want to know a little about Jack Black, who provides the voice for the main character Po.

Here are some tidbits about the actor:

Born: Aug. 28, 1969.

Family: Married to cellist-singer Tanya Haden (who does the voice of a bunny waitress at the beginning of “Kung Fu Panda”). Their son, Sam, turns 2 this month. A second child is expected this year.

Kid-friendly roles: Include PG-rated “Nacho Libre” and the PG-13 “School of Rock.” He has hosted Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards and did voices for animated characters in “Shark Tale” (rated PG) and “The Simpsons” TV show.

Pets: “I’m thinking about getting an aquarium. I like those silver-dollar fish. I might take Sam down to the fish store and let him choose some fish.”

Favorite pizza topping: “Pepperoni. Although I’m sure everybody says pepperoni, so I might have to switch up and go shrimp.”

Favorite cartoon: “I like the old Disneys, but I’ll go with ‘SpongeBob SquarePants.’ “
