Incidents disrupt broadband service

Three unrelated incidents this week disrupted service to Sunflower Broadband customers.

Sunflower Broadband General Manager Patrick Knorr said the problems are not related to the recent digital transition.

The storm that rolled through Monday knocked out service to 4,000 customers in southern Leavenworth and western Wyandotte County. Technicians had service restored by late Monday night.

Two separate incidents Tuesday also affected service.

Early Tuesday, some customers experienced disruptions to video service. And about 5 p.m., another disruption knocked out service to all customers for a total of about 10 minutes.

“We know that for many customers that there’s critical news events going on that they were tracking all day long, and that’s been disrupted and we cannot apologize enough for that,” Knorr said.
