Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for June 1, 1908: “The 34th annual commencement of Lawrence High School was held last night in the Bowersock Opera House and this year’s class had 65 members. However, only 11 of them are boys. Admission was 25 cents. George Innes presented the diplomas. : The federal government has employed Prof. Bailey of KU as a federal analyst for pure food programs. The government thus not only brings important state and federal work together but it has secured the services of a mighty good chemist.”
