City-county discussions on the proposal for a new Kansas River bridge at Lawrence were delayed again to allow for further study of several options for both units of government.

The city staff was asked to investigate prospects for a juvenile curfew for Lawrence after commissioners heard reports that many youngsters were out far too late at night.

Public hearings were about to begin on school, city and county proposals for the coming year. An all-time high local tax rate of 100.36 mills was in prospect, a 9.5 percent rise in expenditures.
