Students start certification program

The Douglas County Manufacturing Certificate program started classes and internships for its inaugural class in June.

Three students chosen for the program are participating in 20 to 40 hours of specialized classes while engaging in a paid internship at either Berry Plastics or Sauer-Danfoss.

Three students were selected through an application and interview process. The students will be eligible for full-time employment upon program completion. The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce developed a scholarship program to donate $750 in book fees for students.
