Kansas City, Mo. ? Members of the media are suckers for a good “rant” story, and so it didn’t take long before someone at Tuesday’s Big 12 Media Days asked Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy about his press conference rant last year aimed at a local reporter.

Before he had barely taken a seat, Gundy was asked how the incident – in which he lashed out at the writer for an article she’d written that criticized one of his players – had affected his team.

“You’d have to ask the players how it’s affected the team,” Gundy said. “I don’t think they put as much into it as maybe what the media does. I think in society today that those are the things that people thrive on, unfortunately, in my opinion. I don’t care much for off-the-field issues and it’s not something that I contemplated.”

In the video, Gundy famously yells “I’m a man! I’m 40!”, comments that have been heavily parodied in the months since the incident.

“I’ve been a popular guy over the last year,” Gundy admitted.
