Professor to perform in Chicago series

Stephanie Zelnick, KU assistant professor of clarinet, has been invited to perform at the Bank of America Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series Aug. 6 in the Chicago Cultural Center.

The concert series was designed to provide live, free music for the public and to showcase talented young artists.

Zelnick was invited to play in the concert series by Richard Young, violist and member of the Vermeer Quartet, who heard Zelnick perform principal clarinet at the Sunflower Music Festival.

Zelnick’s concert will feature works by Bela Bartok and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and she will be accompanied by Young and pianist David Schrader.
