NaHye Kim will perform on the 12-string kayagum at today's Korean Culture Show.

Korean martial arts, games and performances will be featured during the Korean Culture Show today at Kansas University.

The show, which begins at 4 p.m., will be in the Kansas Union. It is part of the “Positive Youth Development and Welfare through Strengths and Spirituality: Views from Korean & America” conference organized by the KU School of Social Welfare.

Highlights will include:

¢ The Samulnori Percussion Ensemble demonstrating mask dancing.

¢ A fashion show highlighting Korean clothing.

¢ A tae kwon do demonstration.

¢ A performance of Korean-style music by Edward Canda, KU professor of social welfare.

¢ A performance of the kayagum, a traditional 12-string instrument, by NaHye Kim.

In addition, the afternoon will include other traditional songs and folk games.

The event is free and open to the public.
