Haarlem, The Netherlands — The USA Baseball National Team, for which Kansas University head baseball coach Ritch Price is an assistant coach, defeated Cuba, 4-1, to win the Haarlem Baseball Week championship on sunday at Pim Mullier Stadium.
Team USA improved to 14-0 on the 2008 tour and finished 7-0 in the Haarlem Baseball Week.
Sunday's victory marked the first time in recorded history that a United States collegiate national team has defeated the Cuba Olympic Team in a tournament title game.
Team USA will face the German National Team in Regensburg, Germany, today.
