Boy Scout Troop 64, chartered to the Eudora Lions Club, attended Camp Naish near Bonner Springs on June 22-28. Scouts enjoyed a week of adventure and excitement, including hiking, swimming, archery and working on merit badges such as first aid, marksmanship, reptile study and leatherworking. They also enjoyed a family night with pizza and goodies on Wednesday. Members of the troop completed 38 merit badges. Adult leaders attending were Glenn Jackson, Jerry Criqui and Damon Bradley. Other adults attending were Dan Sours and Jim Morrison. Scouts attending were Joseph Walker, Jonathan Morrison, Nathan Gentleman, Alex Whitten, Andrew Briery, Devon Middleton, Simon Elwell, Matt Jones, Patrick Bradley, Tanner Brunton, Chance Hamm, Blake Jopp, Evhan Sours, Trenton Wilkins and Zachary Dudley. Drew Davies from Troop 112 in Horton attended camp with Troop 64.

Members of Venturing Crew 2052, chartered to St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church of Lawrence, attended the annual Naish Bash Venturing residence camp in Bonner Springs on June 1-7. Activities included scuba diving, mountain biking, welding, climbing, COPE course, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and horseback riding. Youth participants were Mikkayla Kunkle, Brianna Spence, Kelsey Taylor, Hannah Smith, Helen Gent, Casey Hutchins, JoAnna Male, Grace Clark and Alycia Roberson. Adult participants were Barbara Pressgrove, Jordana Arnold and Marie Wilson.
