Michelle Miller and Jennifer Hornbaker, both of Lawrence, were named to the dean’s list at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, by earning a grade-point average of at least 3.5 or higher during the spring 2008 semester.

Allison Edwards, Lena Fox and Joshua Gaston, all of Lawrence, were named to the president’s list at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. They achieved the honor by earning a grade-point average of 4.0 during the spring 2008 semester.

Anna Zahniser and Megan Mercer, both of Lawrence, were named to the honor roll at Graceland University, Lamoni, Iowa, by earning a grade-point average of at least 3.65 to 3.99 during the spring 2008 semester.

Sarah Nichols, of Baldwin City, and Matthew Farrier, Kristen Longanecker and Aliza Rosenthal, all of Lawrence, were named to the dean’s list at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the spring 2008 semester.

Kayla Frost, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s list for grades achieved during the 2008 spring semester at Hofstra University. This summer she is an intern for NY1 News, a New York City 24-hour news channel. In the fall, she will be an intern for “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central.
She is studying communications and television production at Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y.

Diane and Andy Vigna, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son, Ryan William Vigna, born June 18, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Ryan has a brother, Tyler, 3.
His maternal grandparents are Wayne and Ida Sundling, Republic, Mo.
His paternal grandparents are Richard and Sandy Vigna, Lawrence.

Melody Brown, Basehor, and Jenica Wessels, Lawrence, were named to the dean’s list at Baylor University, Waco, Texas, by earning a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher during the spring 2008 semester.

Sarah Ballard-Hanson, Lawrence, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs May 11 from Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Ore. The commencement exercises were at the Pamplin Sports Center on campus.

She is a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High School.
