City Manager Buford Watson released a proposed $30 million city budget that called for a 1.808-mill tax increase for calendar 1984 and an increase in city spending of more than 2.9 percent over calendar 1983. The proposed budget would put the city’s tax rate at 44.806 mills. The rate for the current year was right at 43 mills.
