Topeka Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on Tuesday appointed Trevor Wohlford of Lawrence to the newly created position of chief hearing officer on the Kansas Court of Tax Appeals.
Since 2004, Wohlford has served as executive director and chief counsel to the Kansas State Board of Tax Appeals, which is transitioning to what will now be called the Kansas Court of Tax Appeals.
The court's mission is to resolve disputes between taxpayers and taxing authorities.
"Trevor has done a terrific job over the past four years in his service to this group and I'm confident his experience and skills will make him a strong addition to the court," Sebelius said.
Wohlford earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Kansas University. He received his law degree from the Denver College of Law.
