Carbondale ? Mill Valley built an eight-point first-quarter lead and never looked back in a 47-28 high school girls basketball victory Tuesday night over Santa Fe Trail.

Whitney Hartman led Mill Valley with 14 points, and Nicole Garretson added 10 points.

Kylee Nilges led Santa Fe Trail with nine points, followed by Kelsi Wiscombe and Amanda Bixel with six points apiece.

Santa Fe Trail (4-10) will play Friday night at Perry-Lecompton.

Oskaloosa 33, Jackson Heights 31

Oskaloosa – Hailey Kelly scored 13 points, and Kyra Coffman added eight points to help Oskaloosa defeat Jackson Heights.

Boys

Oskaloosa 65, Jackson Heights 51

Oskaloosa – Boone Heston and Brock McGinnis scored 17 points apiece, and Oskaloosa defeated Jackson Heights.

Chase Tenpenny added 10 points for the Bears, and J.T. Thurston scored eight points.

Oskaloosa built a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 31-19 at halftime.
