Author to discuss art, Buddhism

An expert on Buddhism and contemporary art will speak Thursday night at 4-1-1 Artspace, 411 E. Ninth St. Patricia Graham, an adjunct research associate at the Kansas University Center for East Asian Studies, will speak at 7 p.m. She will cover the use of Buddhism as inspiration for visual art in Japan, as well as the way arts perpetuate the faith. Graham’s talk relates to her new research and relates to her new book, “Faith and Power In Japanese Buddhist Art,” which was released last year.
