Haskell sweeps York

? Dominic Cliche led five Haskell Indian Nations University players in double figures, and the HINU men’s basketball team eked out a victory against York, 90-87.

Cliche scored 17 points, while Terrance Little Thunder added 16 for the Indians.

Paul Atkinson chipped in with 12, and Vince Chavez and Ben Carrywater each tallied 11.

Haskell improved to 9-11 and will continue its Nebraska road trip tonight at Bellevue College.

Haskell women 65, York 56

Whitney Warrior had 23 points and eight rebounds, and Haskell’s women made it a sweep of York with a 65-56 victory.

“I think the difference in the game was, we went back to pressure,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said, noting York had 26 turnovers and HINU made 16 steals. “Whitney Warrior had one of her better games for us.”

Kortney Smith added 14 points, six rebounds and four steals for HINU, and Justina George had nine points, six rebounds and three steals.

Haskell (9-11) will play College of St. Mary at 3 p.m. today in Omaha, Neb.
