U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts says he will run for re-election

? U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) made it official today that he will run for re-election.

“I am proud of the work I have done for Kansas,” Roberts said after filing papers with the state Secretary of State office. “But let me tell you, you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

Roberts is seeking his third term to the Senate. He sits on the Senate Finance Committee, Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Agriculture Committee and Ethics Committee. He co-chairs the Senate Rural Health Care Caucus. He was born and raised in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University.

Prior to his election to the Senate in 1996, Roberts, who is from Dodge City, served eight terms in the U.S. House serving the First District.
