Overland Park ? Kristie Tiegreen scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Veritas Christian defeated Shawnee Mission Christian, 49-28, Tuesday night in high school girls basketball.

Bekah Barclay added eight points, Meaghan Holmes had six points and eight rebounds, and Marteka Carltson had four points and seven rebounds for the Eagles.

Veritas led just 9-8 after one quarter but outscored Shawnee Mission Christian 17-9 in the second quarter to take a 26-17 lead at halftime.

The Eagles increased their advantage to 37-23 at the end of the third quarter.

Veritas (9-4) will travel to play Topeka Heritage at 6 p.m. Friday.
