Gov. Kathleen Sebelius recently appointed 12 people and reappointed eight members to the State Rehabilitation Council.

Appointees to the council include Lawrence residents Michael Jones and Glen White. Reappointed members include Lawrence residents Shannon Jones and David Rosenthal.

The council consults with state workforce investment officials to review and advise Rehabilitation Services – part of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services – regarding its effectiveness of services provided by state agencies for Kansans with disabilities who are seeking employment.

“This council is essential to ensuring Kansans with disabilities have the help they need to gain employment and achieve self-sufficiency,” Sebelius said.
