At least one household in Lawrence has a passionate rooting interest in Super Bowl XLII.

Pat Hays, who for the past six years has resided in Lawrence with husband Frank, said she will be rooting for the Giants because her niece, Courtney Daniels, is married to New York Giants special-teams player Torrance “Tank” Daniels.

“We’ve got a little fan club going,” Pat Hays said.

Daniels, signed from the Giants’ practice squad Nov. 28, had two tackles in the wild-card victory at Tampa Bay and a tackle in Sunday’s NFC title game played in sub-zero temperatures at Green Bay.
