Host McLouth topples Seabury at Invite

McLouth – Mike Rome and Chase Batman led McLouth to a 60-29 drubbing of Seabury Academy on Saturday in the seventh-place game of the McLouth Invitational.

Rome was named all-tournament.

Bill Gibbs led Seabury with 13.

? The Tonganoxie High girls basketball team defended its home floor and won the Tonganoxie Invitational final, 51-37, Saturday night against Eudora.

The Chieftains were led by Shannon Carlin (14 points) and Elizabeth Baska (13). Tonganoxie improved to 11-2 and will entertain Basehor-Linwood on Friday.

Boys

Perry-Lecompton 55, Oskaloosa 51

McLouth – Shane Gimzo scored 20 points, and Perry-Lecompton overtook Oskaloosa in the fourth quarter to win the McLouth Invitational championship.

The Kaws’ Joel Gantz and Kyle Morgison were named to the all-tournament team, as were the Bears’ Chase Tenpenny and Brock McGinnis, who led Oskaloosa with 17 points.

K.C. Christian 54, Wellsville 34

Baldwin – Wellsville fell behind by 10 in the first quarter and never closed the gap against top-seeded K.C. Christian in the Baldwin Invitational.

Colin Wright led Wellsville with 11 points, and the Eagles finished fourth in the tournament. Zach Wright and Colin Wright were named to the all-tournament team.
