P-L, Oskaloosa to meet in title game

Perry-Lecompton 53, Jefferson County North 38

McLouth - Perry-Lecompton's boys advanced to the championship game of the 21st McLouth Invitational tournament by knocking off Jefferson County North, 53-38, Friday night.

The Kaws and Chargers were tied at 16 at halftime, but PLHS pulled away with a 19-7 advantage in the third and cruised to victory.

Oskaloosa 71, Valley Falls 55

McLouth - Oskaloosa scored 20 or more points in each of the first three quarters and cruised past Valley Falls en route to a berth in tonight's championship game at the McLouth Invitational.

The Bears will face Perry-Lecompton for the title.

Maranatha Academy 47, McLouth 44

McLouth - Despite owning a 12-2 lead after one quarter, the McLouth Bulldogs fell, 47-44, to Maranatha Academy Friday night in the consolation semis of their home Invitational.

Maranatha scored 21 points in the second quarter to erase a dismal first quarter and take a 23-21 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs fought back in the third to outscore the Raiders 11-10 and cut the lead to one after three quarters. But McLouth never got over the hump in the final frame.

The Bulldogs now will play for seventh place against Seabury Academy at 4 p.m. today.

Baldwin 42, Wellsville 27

Baldwin - Baldwin High knocked off rival Wellsville, 42-27, to earn a berth in tonight's championship game of the Baldwin Invitational.

Drew Berg led all scorers with 21 points, Brandon Tommer added eight and four other Bulldogs cracked the scoring column to lead BHS to the semifinal victory.

Colin Wright (14) and Zach Wright (9) combined to lead Wellsville.

Baldwin will play Augusta in tonight's title game at 5:30 p.m. Wellsville will play KC Christian at 4 p.m. for third place.
