Progress was being made on plans for the city’s two new fire stations approved by the voters. City Manager Ray Wells said he was pleased by the work to date and that a solid work schedule was shaping up.

Republican senators in the Kansas Legislature succeeded in passing a Republican-sponsored reapportionment bill that would change the boundaries of the state’s 40 senate districts. It was OK’d 26-14 and was due to move on to the House in short order.
