A former Baldwin City woman accused of molesting her 3-year-old son was back in Douglas County District Court on Monday, and a judge set a preliminary hearing in her case.
Evidence against the 28-year-old woman will be heard Jan. 25.
The woman faces charges of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and sexual exploitation of a child. She's also charged with endangering the life of a second victim, a 14-year-old girl.
She's being held in the Douglas County Jail. Her bond remains set at $250,000.
If convicted, the woman faces 25 years to life in prison because the judge would be allowed to use Jessica's Law during sentencing. That measure increases the penalties for those convicted of sex crimes involving young children.
In a separate but related case, a 55-year-old woman also appeared in court Monday. She is charged with aggravated intimidation of a victim in connection with the case. A judge scheduled her preliminary hearing for Feb. 19.
