KU softball squad splits

? Despite home runs from sophomore Sara Ramirez and freshman Brittany Hile, a balanced offensive attack from Houston handed Kansas University’s softball team its first loss of the Houston Invitational on Saturday night.

KU sophomore Amanda Jobe extended her hitting streak to a team-high 10 games. Sarah Vertelka (4-2) suffered her second loss from pitcher’s circle.

Earlier Saturday, Jobe and junior Val Chapple homered for the Jayhawks (11-4 overall, 3-1 in the tournament) in a 3-0 victory over Boston.
