Gym Champs: Lawrence Gymnastics & Athletics won the Level 7 competition at the Cupid Classic in Belton, Mo. Carrie Howland was the all-around champion. Other team members are Jessie Abernathy, Grace Bartle, Lexie Brady and Haley Johnson.

Swim Record: Lawrence High grad Chelsea Dirks-Ham, a freshman at Missouri State, set a Missouri Valley Conference record with a time of 56.34 in the 100 butterfly last week at the league swim championships.
