Next president cleared of financial fraud
South Korea ? A special prosecutor cleared South Korean President-elect Lee Myung-bak today of financial fraud allegations that had clouded his rise to high office.
Chung Ho-young said he reached the conclusion after a 38-day investigation into charges that Lee colluded in a 2001 stock case.
“The president-elect was not involved in the stock price manipulation,” he told a televised news conference.
