A $300,000 two-story addition to the west side of Kansas University’s Allen Fieldhouse was approved by the Kansas Board of Regents.

The Journal-World revealed in an exclusive story that Dr. Franklin D. Murphy would resign his post as UCLA chancellor to become chairman of the Times Mirror Co. of Los Angeles. Murphy was a former Kansas University chancellor.
