EMU Theatre will again be featuring its production of one-act plays at the Lawrence Arts Center. “A Benevolent Act: Four Short Plays by Local Playwrights” will open at 8 p.m. Friday.

Area playwrights Dean Bevan, Sara Langford, Jay Maus and Andy Stowers contributed works for the production. Performances include comedic stories dealing with avoiding death and living in limbo, as well as more serious topics of imprisonment and fighting in Iraq.

Additional showtimes are at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29 and March 1 at the arts center, 940 N.H. Admission is $6.
