In a standing-room-only hearing, where emotions often ran high, Kansans on both sides of the proposed rise in the state drinking age went to battle. But it was obvious, despite protests of a number of Kansas University students, that the issue would not be resolved for some time. Study was being given to raising the drinking age for 3.2 beer from 18 to 21.
