Police seeking two men in home invasion / LJWorld.com

Lawrence police are looking for two men in connection with a home invasion and robbery that took place at midnight Tuesday in an apartment at 1411 W. Seventh St.

The men, armed with a machete and a handgun, ordered five people to empty their pockets and then forced the victims into a bathroom, police said. There was no sign of forced entry, police said.

The suspects left with several items from the apartment, including electronic gaming systems. No one was injured in the incident. Police recovered the machete at the apartment.

Police are looking for two black men in their early 20s who were wearing bandanas, dark hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans. One suspect was described as 5-foot-9, weighing 210 pounds. The other suspect was described by witnesses as 5-foot-5, weighing 145 pounds.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 843-TIPS.

Ok, Steffes supporters. How many time has this apartment been robbed, compared to how many incidents linked to the LC patrons? Not even close. And did these stupid remarks come about, because the suspects are black? If so, who's being racist now?

Yeah, someone will get hurt. Unless you sleep with your shotgun, and regularly train yourself to react at a moments notice, I'm afraid that statistically the odds are that you and your dog will be the ones hurt.

On the otherhand, if you are one of those guys who is always on edge and ready to blast away at an indruder, the odds are that you will probably kill some chinese student who comes to the wrong house on halloween.
