Driver killed after losing control on county road

A Douglas County resident was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle accident on E. 1900 Road.

The driver was southbound in the area of 970 E. 1900 Road shortly before 4:30 p.m. when the accident occurred, said Lt. Kari Wempe of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle struck a culvert, overturned and landed on its top, killing the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Wempe said.
