From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb.12, 1908: “Harry Stevenson of 1038 Tenn. was hit by an eastbound Santa Fe freight train yesterday afternoon and died of the shock. He was talking on the track and stepped aside to allow the train to pass but he stepped on a small stone and fell into the train. :The state rested the Vancil case this morning and the defense opened its presentation regarding the alleged murder of a local woman by her husband, Ephraim Vancil.”
