Haskell drops two to OWU

? Haskell Indian Nations University’s women’s basketball team rallied from a big early deficit, but the Fightin’ Indians eventually fell to Oklahoma Wesleyan, 71-57, on Friday.

“We just dug ourselves too big of a hole early,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha said of deficits of 11-0 early and 37-19 at the half. “We got within eight, but we just couldn’t get over the hump. They’re a good team, and you can’t let a good team get away from you like that, especially at home.”

Whitney Warrior led HIN with 15 points and four assists, and Sharon Forte added 13 points and six rebounds.

Haskell (11-14) will travel today to Central Christian College in McPherson.
