HINU women fall late

The Haskell Indian Nations University’s women’s basketball team’s six-person rotation eventually ran out of steam in a 64-53 loss to Central Christian on Saturday at Coffin Complex.

Haskell never had the lead against Central Christian, and the closest it got was on a Kortney Smith three-pointer in the first half that cut the margin to 24-23. In the second half, April Johnston’s lay-up pulled the Indians within 45-43, but the Tigers went on a 10-1 run to put the game away.

Smith led the Indians with 15 points. Whitney Warrior scored 10.
