Kristen Karlin, Lawrence, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2007 semester at the University of Minnesota by earning a grade-point average of 3.66 or higher.

Kristen is a 2007 Free State High School graduate and the daughter of Cal and Jan Karlin, Lawrence.

¢Rebecca Lauren Craft, Lawrence, was named to the Chancellor’s List for the fall 2007 semester at Arkansas State University by earning a grade-point average of 3.8 to 4.0.

¢Free State High School swept the top six places in the K-12 Division at the Onaga High School Chess Tournament to win the first-place trophy. Lawrence schools also swept the team trophies in K-6, with Quail Run, first; Wakarusa Valley, second; and Cordley, third. Central Junior High won the third-place trophy in K-8. First-place medals went to Free State’s Kellen Cross in K-12 and Wakarusa Valley’s Robert Newman in K-6.

Other Lawrence medalists were K-12, Free State, Thomas Reams, second; Peter Lesslie, third; Sean Stenseng, fourth; Keely Stenseng, fifth; and Thomas Clark, sixth. For South West Junior High School, Luke Lesslie, 15th.

¢Tony and Kathy Postoak, Liberty, Mo., announce the birth of their son, Kaiden Charles Postoak, born Dec. 2 in Overland Park.

Kaiden’s maternal grandparents are Doug and Linda Brock, Excelsior Springs, Mo.

Kaiden’s paternal grandparents are Wayne and Virginia Postoak, both of Lawrence.

¢Rhonda McCracken, Lawrence, received an ABA Paralegal Certification with honors from Johnson County Community College in December.

Rhonda is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Kansas Paralegal Association and the University of Missouri Alumni Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from MU in political science and German.

Rhonda completed an internship with the Johnson County District Attorney’s office and hosted, along with fellow Lawrence student Kristina Benz, a symposium addressing Johnson County’s homeless population, domestic violence, and volunteer opportunities, issues and concerns.

She does freelance paralegal work and continues to work with federal and state legislatures and advocacy groups to help end employment discrimination against victims of domestic violence, the Battered Women’s Employment Protection and Victim Employment Rights Acts.

¢Nicole M. Andregg, Lawrence, was named to the Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2007 semester at Northwest Missouri State University by earning a grade-point average of 3.5 to 4.0.

¢Several area students were named to MidAmerica Nazarene University’s fall 2007 honor roll.

¢Graceland University’s in Lamoni, Iowa, announces the fall 2007 semester honor roll. Students named to the President’s List earned a 4.0 grade-point average. Students on the Honors List earned a grade-point average of 3.65 to 3.99. Those on the Dean’s List earned a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.64.
