The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will host an overnight event for children on New Year’s Eve.

Children ages 5 to 12 can ring in the New Year by playing games and participating in other activities. The event will run from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.

Children should bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

The New Year’s Eve Overnighter costs $28. The registration deadline is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at any Parks and Recreation facility. Children also can be enrolled online at www.lprd.org.
