KTPK, car dealer give food to ECKAN

A Topeka radio station partnered with a Lawrence car dealership to donate food coupons and food items to a Lawrence social service agency earlier this week.

Representatives from KTPK, which bills itself as Country Legends 106.9, and Dale Willey, owner of Dale Willey Automotive, made the donation Monday to East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Cooperative, 2518 Ridge Court.

The coupons were enough to provide hams and turkeys for at least 40 families, said Lora Schneider, KTPK sales and marketing consultant. Donations also included mayonnaise coupons and gravy and spices. “We just wanted to pick an organization that has a wide range of programs and ECKAN seems to have that,” Schneider said. “They can benefit a lot of people in a lot of different ways.”
